Dr. Jianing Yue’s Team Reports China’s Largest Single-Center Experience in Distal Bypass for CLTI

Dr. Jianing Yue and his team at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, have completed more than 100 distal bypass procedures for patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI), establishing one of the most experienced distal bypass teams in China and the country’s largest single-center reporting team in this field.

The team’s clinical outcomes from this series of more than 100 distal bypass cases were presented.

As endovascular therapy has become the dominant treatment strategy for lower extremity arterial disease, distal bypass remains a highly demanding yet indispensable option for limb salvage in selected patients with advanced ischemia, complex below-the-knee disease, or failed prior interventions. Over recent years, Dr. Yue’s team has remained committed to preserving and advancing this challenging surgical technique, with a strong focus on real-world decision-making, technical refinement, and long-term limb salvage.
